I’m bored out of my mind!

Those are the sentiments of a recent viewer.  This week’s video is a call to action for all my bored ladies (and gents!).  Just because you’re bored at work, doesn’t mean you have to throw in the towel.  You do, however, have to take some action.  You need a dose of curiosity in your life.  Here are my three fav tips to become more curious and tell boredom “Bye”.

Change your vocab

I wasn’t kidding when I said tell boredom “bye”.  Get that word (boredom) out of your mouth, your head, everything.  Boredom, like so many things in life, can become a habit.  Nothing in your life life is boring unless you make it boring and you’re not boring, so that’s that.

Say “hell no!” to the status quo

We usually get bored because we’ve gotten into a routine.  We can predict the outcomes, we know what’s coming next, we could do the whole day with our eyes closed (don’t try that at home).  So, shake things up a bit and challenge what you always thought was “normal” at work.  Find new ways to do things and start asking “Why not?”.  The more you can infuse your day with one new moment, the more exciting it will become.

Learn something new

When was the last time you tried something new at work?  Learn a new skill, job shadow, become involved in a project, create a process improvement – you dig?  This is one of my favorite ways to spice up my work life.  It gets you excited about what’s around the corner and it benefits the business, a total win-win.

Now comes the fun part, I get to listen to you!  So tell me, was this helpful?  Leave a comment below, share your thoughts with other viewers and sign up for email updates.  You never know how your voice will impact someone’s life.  Need some personalized career attention?  Work with me and get 10x the career love and attention.

The corporate world needs that brilliance that only you bring.  So go out into the world, act with conviction, be courageous and live joyfully every single day.
