I have a new boss, who’s my age with less experience.  How do I have a good relationship with her?  This week’s viewer question is something lots of us can relate to.

You’re on the verge of something that’s increasingly more common.  As baby boomers leave the workforce, more Generation X and Y employees are filling those open spots.

Watch the video for the full deal, but here’s the skinny on what you’ll see:

1  Avoid you own personal biases.  Less tenure doesn’t equal bad boss.

2.  Play up your skills – your are an asset.

Instead of worrying about how this new boss will make you feel, use your skills to improve the team dynamic.  All your knowledge and historical perspective is an asset for your boss.

3.  New leaders have new ideas.

Be open to them.  New ideas are always welcome, it’s how you continue to innovate and be great.

4.  Assume your new leaders has great intentions.

If you go in thinking she wants the best for you and your team, your relationship will already be off o a good start.
